The Vincent van Gogh Neural Archive is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including those with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.

1. Conformance Status

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria. We are working toward full compliance and value feedback from all users about accessibility barriers.

2. Technical Features

• All images include descriptive alt text attributes
• All interactive elements are keyboard accessible (Tab, Enter, Arrow keys)
• The lightbox gallery supports keyboard navigation with Left/Right arrow keys and Escape to close
• Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA minimums
• Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy
• ARIA labels on navigation and interactive elements
• Responsive design supports all screen sizes and pinch-to-zoom

3. Known Limitations

Some older artwork images sourced from historical archives may have minimal alt text descriptions. We are working to improve descriptions across the full collection.
